After spending almost 6 years in the US Air Force and another 4 years with Mayo Clinic Tami started with the VA back in 2000. Tami currently works as a Primary Care and Emergency Department Social Worker. As a licensed Clinical Social Worker she provides services for veteran populations in a variety of areas. She is a thoughtful and meticulous provider always going the extra mile not only for her patients but also her coworkers. This is where she stands out. Back in 2018 she had a near fatal medical episode that changed her life. After several heart surgeries and the placing of a defibrillator pace maker she returned to work. She could have easily retired or quit working all together but said "she was not done helping veterans" Tami has such drive and determination that seems to be never ending. He can do attitude and desire to "keep serving" is truly what makes her a hero. Ask any of her co workers or her patients and they will all tell you the same thing, she works hard, never gives up and makes her patients feel like they are the only person that matters at that moment and gives them 100% of her focus and energy to resolve their issues. She works hard and gives so much and never asks for anything in return.
